Mountain Climbing

Colby completed his first high altitude, alpine assault today by conquering 1680' foot Bald Mtn. in West Sumner, Maine.

The summit was achieved without the use of Sherpas or bottled oxygen. The day was clear, comfortable and the summit offered excellent views. Also in the Summit party were Daddy, Uncle Rogie and Robin. Lots of wildlife were spotted on the expedition including an owl by Colby on the way to the trailhead, a bear and cub near the summit by Roger, a deer on the way home and a bald eagle at Camp while we were rinsing off the day in the lake.

T-ball

Colby has finished up his t-ball programs for the year. The parents were invited to watch today. They got trophies, had a game and hit water balloons off of the tee (somehow, I think that this will happen at Camp this summer). Next up, Pre-school graduation tomorrow night and a summer golf program.

Lookout Lance!

Colby has really been enjoying the warm weather and getting out on his bike. He has done enough laps around the island in the parking lot that it could be called the Bayview Terrace 500.

Snow In Portland

We got 16" of snow in Portland last weekend and have been having some fun.

Sledding in Payson Park. Sorry about the video. I shot in portrait and should have shot in landscape. You'll get the idea.

Halloween 2008

It's been a crazy month; I have been studying for GRE's and am taking a graduate level college class every week, so the postings to the blog have been few.

I have officially become a "hunting widow"; hopefully the season will be productive for Marc.

Colby had a great Halloween--here are a few pictures. Some of you might recognize the bee costume from his first Halloween; Jeffa's son Connor is the year's model...Isn't he cute?

Pumpkin Picking Day

Check out our little farmer harvesting the last of his crops. The wagon got a little heavy, so he hopped in and I pulled it the rest of the way home.

Make way for Colby... and ducklings

Saturday, Grandma and Dzia Dzia took Colby ( by train) to Boston Common to see the ducklings, ride the Swan boats and enjoy a beautiful sunny day. A trip to the North End for a great meal (and great pastries from Mike's ) made for a wonderful day. Favorite part of the day: chasing the pigeons in the Common. He wants to go back this fall to ride the " DUCK TRUCKS" aka: Boston Duck tours--can't wait!

A night with the Sea Dogs

Marc's brother and his family are here from Colorado, so the whole Drabik clan went to see the Red Sox AA team, the Portland Sea Dogs. All 4 kids actually held still long enough to snap this picture: Haedyn, Hannah, Hunter and Colby.

Great night for baseball --the kids were all able to get a high five from Slugger himself.

Guess who's 90??

Not Colby! We celebrated Great Grandma Torosian's birthday a little early --dinner at Stripers, then back to Amesbury to open presents and have dessert. Grandma had a little help opening presents, blowing out candles and best of all sampling the frosting ( again and again and again...)

We hade a wonderful day--Colby provided lots of smiles and entertainment.

A Day out with Thomas

A day out with Thomas the Tank Engine

While Marc was away on buisness, I took Colby, Nana and Grampy( my parents) to see Thomas in North Conway. Colby was absolutely in awe when he actually saw the bright blue engine and let out a huge yell" It's really Thomas, mommy! He's here for me...( how sweet is that?)

During the 25 minute train ride, he rarely looked at us--he was transfixed by the scenery going by outside and watching the train go on the tracks. We had a wonderful day--great weather, a lot of laughs and a smile that reached from here to the moon! Check out the pictures...

Happy Birthday, Colby!

Colby is 3! Can you guess what color the cake was?

Finally

It has taken a year ( or so) and David and Kate here to finally get this up and running...now there will be no more excuses not to have more Colby updates to everyone! Bear with us while we get up and running...
